Though Check in at the Sylacauga Recreation Department will be required on Friday night during the carbo dinner/weight-in, you may wish to stay in a hotel closer to the race start. The Anniston/Oxford area offers a wide variety of Hotels located about 45 miles north of Sylacauga on Hwy21 and about 20 miles to the race start.
Directions to the Race Start
Camping
Camping is available in the Choccoloco Wildlife Management Area within the Talladega National Forest. Pine Glen is the location of the race start. Primitive camping is located here with remote restrooms and no showers.
Coleman Lake is located only about six miles from the race start and has very nice camping facilities with full hot showers and pull-through camp sites.
